Common Core Test Changes in NY
The intention of the Common Core was to create a unified and standardized curriculum for College and Career Readiness.  In the Empire State, Common Core has meant longer and more challenging tests at the 3-8 grade level and for high school Regents exams.  In September, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the
Launch of Common Core Task Force due to exam results and parent and teacher concerns (Cuomo on the Common Core 090315.) Starting in 2016,
Questar will be developing and administering the 3-8 exams (no more Pearson) which will be shorter than 2015 version.
