Previously Released FAQs Clarify Timing of Annual Limits on Cost-Sharing
Under Health Care Reform, starting on January 1, 2014, non-grandfathered group health plans are generally required to ensure that any annual cost-sharing required under the plan does not exceed certain limitations, including limits on both out-of-pocket maximums and deductibles. A set of FAQs previously released by the U.S. Department of Labor include information related to who must comply, temporary safe harbors, certain limitations under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, coverage requirements for certain preventive services and more.
