I tell you what, I say this every year..... it seems once we hit the 4th of July holiday it is like hitting high gear in the 1/4 mile! HANG ON!!! Summer is flying by and Norwalk is just about here.... ARE YOU READY?
Progress has been made here at Tin Indian Performance! Converter is back and the engine and transmission are back in the car. Completely going over the entire car one last time. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be able to make it out for any testing before the event. We hope to make some passes during the Friday program so that we are prepared for the first round qualifications on Saturday.
We have some more new products coming out but will need to delay their debut on account of the event / preparing for it. Please don't forget about the Hoban car raffle (see below) and getting entered to win tickets to the event as well.
Time to go over my "Norwalk list" a few more times! I am certain I am forgetting something....
p.s. Shop hours - We have implemented our Norwalk cutoff for engine completion this week. We will also have very limited hours the week of July 29th as it takes quite a bit of time and effort to prepare to sponsor the event. If you have a parts emergency, it is best to email during this time.
We had a valve cover giveaway that we promoted at the 2012 Pontiac Challenge event held at Rolling Thunder Dragway in Pacific Junction, Iowa. This years winner of the raffle is Bob Wolf. Bob just won himself a pair of Tin Indian Performance logo Billet-TEK valve covers.

Mike Moak's Pump Gas 505 - 776 HP!
Last year Mike gave us his MR-1 based 505 to freshen up. Over the course of the winter Mike decided to "turn it up a notch" and see what we could get out of the 505 and still keep it on pump gas.
Mike's MR-1 bracket motor was in great shape. No ridge in the cylinder walls at all and this engine had 4 years of HARD use at the track. Since we were going to try and really make some power out of this 505, Mike's cast crank was replaced with a forged crank and Crower rods. His KRE High Port heads were ported to flow 380 cfm on the intake. We were able to use the same pistons so we honed the block for a new set of Total Seal rings. We used one of our TIP custom ground cams in the build along with a KRE North Wind intake. Of course with this larger cubic inch engine, we used one of our TIP evac kits and during the pulls the engine produced over 16" of vacuum.

When it was all said and done, this combo made 776.3 horsepower at 6700 rpm and 678.9 ft lbs of torque at 5300 rpm!
ALL ON PUMP GAS!! This ought to be quite a fun ride in Mike's '65 GTO!

Steve Dale's 69 GTO F/C
Well I have to admit that Steve Dale came out of nowhere but he now sits atop the Fastest Pontiacs List! Steve ran a blistering 6.11 ET @ 228.89 mph at Virginia Motorsports Park on June 13, 2013. Steve's car is a 1969 GTO F/C that weighs 2400 lbs. Car is powered by a super charged fuel injected 505 running Tiger heads. We look forward to seeing Steve and his F/C @ Norwalk!
