Come Hungry for Pancakes!
|Annual Youth Fundraiser This Sunday |
Enjoy a hearty breakfast this Sunday while supporting Fourth Church youth!
A breakfast of all-you-can-eat pancakes (gluten-free upon request), sides, coffee, and juice--for a suggested donation of $12--will be prepared and served by the youth between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in Borwell Dining Room that day. And, for a suggested donation of a few extra dollars, Rocky Supinger will be preparing extra-special pancakes!
Proceeds support our sixth through twelfth graders as they travel to participate in Asheville Youth Mission this summer. Tickets will be available at the door.
Come on out and enjoy a tasty breakfast and fellowship with church members--and support the work of our youth!

This week Vince Gerasole of CBS Chicago stopped by to explore our new Andrew Organ pipe chamber, hear the wide range of sounds produced by the new organ, and chat with Chris Soer of Quimby Pipe Organs about building such complex instruments--and their meeting was featured on CBS Chicago's 5:00 p.m. newscast Wednesday night!
If you haven't yet had a chance to watch it, the link can be found online here.
|An Evening of Prayer, Singing, and Reflection|
Join us tonight for our monthly service in the style of Taiz at 7:30 p.m. in Buchanan Chapel.
The Taiz service provides an opportunity to gather in a contemplative, prayerful setting at the end of a busy week. Candles; easy-to-learn songs from various countries, traditions, and languages; and a period of silence all contribute to a time to reflect and to open oneself to God. We gather for this service on "fourth Fridays at Fourth Church."
As it is each month, the service will be preceded by opportunity to walk the labyrinth in Anderson Hall between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. This meditative walk takes approximately twenty minutes, and members of the labyrinth ministry team are present to offer guidance for first-time labyrinth walkers.

Through Sunday, May 1 Women at Fourth is collecting materials and funds for hygiene kits for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), which cares for communities affected by crises and catastrophic events. One way PDA does this is by working with Church World Service (CWS), a cooperative ministry of thirty-seven Christian-based communions, to provide hygiene kits to areas affected by disaster.
Each kit is estimated to cost about $10 to put together, plus another $2 for shipping and handling fees for distribution with Church World Services. Materials and funds for the hygiene kits will be collected at Coffee Hour this Sunday morning and next and at the reception desk during the week.
A list of materials needed for each kit is available online.
