Pledge to the 2016 Annual Appeal
This Sunday is also Commitment Sunday for the 2016 Annual Appeal for Fourth Presbyterian Church and Chicago Lights, a day when we celebrate all we are able to do together through our generous response to God's blessings in our lives.

It is through worship, education and discipleship, and mission and service that we truly are the church together, living out our call to love and serve all of God's children. On Commitment Sunday, we join together to pledge our commitment to the 2016 Annual Appeal, that this community might continue to "Give. Grow. Become!" in our own faith and as a light for this city.

If you have not yet had opportunity to submit a pledge, please do so today: the form can be printed from the website or completed online

Please join us we individually and together "Give. Grow. Become!" through our support of the 2016 Annual Appeal and its expression of living as faithful followers of Christ and active citizens of the world.

A Ministry of the Fourth Church Deacons
Do you know Fourth Church members who are unable to attend worship and would like to receive Communion?

This holiday season, as part of their ministry, Fourth Church Deacons will be taking Communion to members who are homebound, in a hospital or other care facility, or in other circumstances that prevent them from attending services of worship.

Please call Carol Allerton at 312.640.5448 with names of those who may be interested. Those individuals will then be called to ask about setting up a time for the Deacons to visit.

tenMass Incarceration Conversation with Shannon
Book Discussion Series Continues
A new book discussion series hosted by the Multicultural Committee is helping us delve into the issue of mass incarceration--the disproportionately high rates of imprisonment among young, African American men and the profoundly devastating effects this has on individuals, families, communities, and society.

On Tuesday, November 17 at 5:30 p.m., Shannon Kershner will lead us in conversation about Ministry with Prisoners and Families as we examine ways that the faith community can provide a holistic response to all who are affected by mass incarceration.

We hope you'll join us as we continue to explore what this issue means and what we might do about it.
