Sunday School and Youth Gatherings Resume September 13
|
Sunday, September 13 will be a special Sunday of fellowship and fun as children and youth programming resumes!
In addition to Sunday School classes starting up again at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. and youth gatherings for sixth through twelfth graders beginning a new year, there will be family fun time afterwards, with lunch and outdoor games and activities in the Michigan Avenue courtyard.
Also, do you love working with kids? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to teach? We're looking for a few volunteers to teach some of the fourth- and fifth-grade Sunday School class sessions--with a partner--during 11:00 a.m. worship. If you're interested, please contact Matt Helms (312.573.3362).
We hope you'll join us for this intergenerational event as we kick off autumn at Fourth Church!

Chancel Choir and Choral Society Rehearsals Start in September
|
Are you interested in offering the gift of music at Fourth Church?
New voices are invited to join the volunteer Chancel Choir, which sings at the 8:00 a.m. worship service each Sunday, September through June. The Chancel Choir rehearses weekly on Thursdays, beginning September 10, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary Choir Loft and again on Sundays at 7:30 a.m.
There is also opportunity to join the Fourth Church Choral Society, which is open to all interested singers in the Chicago community and gathers periodically throughout the year to prepare for a concert. This season the Choral Society will join the Chicago Chamber Orchestra for a concert on Thursday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The ensembles will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem that evening. Rehearsals for this concert begin Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Buchanan Chapel.

Important Note about Sunday Afternoon Parking
|
No Reduced-Rate parking after 4:00 This Sunday or Next
|
If you park in the 900 N. Michigan garage during Jazz at Four worship, please be aware that there will not be reduced-rate parking available after 4:00 p.m. on Sundays, August 30 and September 6.
We have just learned about this and are in conversation about reduced-rate parking for those taking part in this Sunday afternoon service. We hope to have news about that the week of Labor Day.
In addition to the Sunday validation at the 900 garage now being valid only for those entering the garage after 7:00 a.m. and leaving by 4:00 p.m., the old validation tickets (with the magnetic strips) will no longer be accepted. New validations for the 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday period--tickets that have a bar code on them to work with the new machines at the garage--are available at the church reception desk.
