A Ministry of the Fourth Church Deacons
|
Do you know Fourth Church members who are unable to attend worship and would like to receive Communion?
As part of their ministry, Fourth Church Deacons will be taking Communion to members who are homebound, in a hospital or other care facility, or in other circumstances that prevent them from attending services of worship.
Please call Carol Allerton at 312.640.5448 with names of those who may be interested. Those individuals will then be called to ask about setting up a time for the Deacons to visit.

A Ministry of Compassionate Listening
|
Our congregation's commitment to provide ministries of healing grows out of our desire to be a place where hurting people can receive compassionate care and Christ's healing love. One way in which we express this is through Stephen Ministry, which offers one-to-one caring relationships to support those who are experiencing challenging times, such as loneliness, unemployment, hospitalization, or loss.
For those facing life's struggles or major changes, Stephen Ministry provides someone who cares, who listens, who accompanies, and who supports.
Do you know someone who could benefit from the caring presence of a Stephen Minister? Information about Stephen Ministry is available online, in the literature racks, and by leaving a confidential message at 312.573.3365.

Staying Connected with Fourth Church
|
As reported in Session's May update to the congregation, work is underway to improve the functionality and integrity of our database so that it might serve as a more effective tool for the church and members to build connections with one another. The first steps in this process are ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the basic information, such as addresses, preferred means of contact, connections to various committees, and the like.
To accomplish that, the IT team will be inviting small groups of members, one group at a time, to review their data and update it.
We are doing this in small groups (rather than as a blanket invitation to all 5,000-plus members at once!) to ensure that all the updates are processed correctly and efficiently.
When in the weeks ahead you are invited to do so, please take the few moments necessary to update your information so as to help us know how to be in touch with you!
For more information about this process, contact Meghan McGee or Chuck Cooper.
Thank you for your help with this project!
