A New Weekly Women's Bible Study

This Sunday is John Vest's last Sunday at Fourth Church as he prepares to move into his new call to serve as Visiting Professor of Evangelism at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.

Following the congregational meeting on Sunday, we will host a Coffee Hour reception in celebration of John and Anna Vest's ministry among us.

Please plan to be with us to join in sharing with John and Anna how deeply grateful we are for all that their presence among us has meant--and to wish them Godspeed on this new chapter in their lives!

Celebrate John Vest's Last Jazz at Four

Join us this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Michigan Avenue courtyard (or, in case of rain, Borwell Dining Room and the Commons) for a festive summer Jazz at Four Communion service!

John Vest will commemorate his last Sunday with us as he preaches and serves barbecue (his favorite way to share fellowship) at his final service of worship at Fourth Church. As always, this service will feature the soulful sounds of the Lucy Smith Quartet.

Bring a friend and come enjoy the music, prayer, and BBQ!

Time:

     Sunday, June 7, 4:00 p.m.

Place:

     Michigan Avenue Courtyard

threeCongregational Meeting This Sunday

This Sunday, June 7 all members are encouraged to attend a congregational meeting that has been called by the Session of Fourth Church and will be held in the Sanctuary at 12:15 p.m.

At the meeting, the congregation will act to dissolve the pastoral relationship between John and Fourth Church so that he might assume his new position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Evangelism at Union Presbyterian Seminary.

fourSummer Sunday School Begins
Classes at 9:30 a.m. Only

This Sunday, Summer Sunday School for preschool through fifth-grade children begins, with classes meeting at 9:30 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Gratz Center. (There will not be an 11:00 a.m. class during the summer; it will resume in the fall.)

Classes will be divided into three sections, with three- and four-year-olds meeting in Room 4B, kindergartners and first graders meeting in Room 4D, and second through fifth graders meeting in Room 4E.

During the 11:00 a.m. worship hour, when we do not have Sunday School, the Nursery on the first floor of the Gratz Center will be welcoming children up to age five. As always, children are also welcome to join their parents in worship and can ask the ushers for one of the children's worship folders.

fiveWalking to Support Meals Ministry
GCFD Hunger Walk: June 20

There are only a couple of weeks left to register for this month's Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) Hunger Walk and support the feeding programs of Fourth Church!

The walk will take place on Saturday, June 20, and Fourth Church's Meals Ministry is fielding a walking team. We still need walkers to join us as well as individuals to support those walking: all points earned and donations received through the team will help provide much-needed food for Sunday Night Supper, Monday Night Supper, and midweek bag lunches, which together this year will serve more than 27,500 meals to hungry neighbors.

To register to walk with the Fourth Church Meals Ministry team, click here and follow the step-by-step instructions on the registration process.

To make a donation toward food credits for Sunday and Monday Night Suppers and weekday bag lunches, visit our team page online

More information is also available by contacting Norman Clearfield, Meals Ministry Coordinator, at 312.981.3599.
