Annual Appeal 2015

Next Sunday, October 26 is Commitment Sunday, a day when we celebrate all that we are able to do together through our generous response to God's blessings in our lives.

As we look ahead to this year's celebration, we encourage everyone to complete a giving response card for the 2015 Annual Appeal for Fourth Church and Chicago Lights prior to worship that day.

If you have not yet had opportunity to complete a response card, please do so today: cards were sent to members' homes and are also available in the pew racks and online.

To those who have already given--thank you! We are deeply grateful for your generosity, which will allow the work and ministry of Fourth Church and Chicago Lights to continue in 2015.

Please join us in being "All In!" and support the 2015 Annual Appeal, as together we continue to be faithful followers of Christ and active citizens of the world in which we live.

threeSupplies for Unaccompanied Immigrant Children
Donations Collected at Coffee Hour

As many as 400 unaccompanied immigrant children are in Chicago for a two- to three-week period at any one time as they await help in being united with a relative in the United States or in being taken under care by the federal foster care system.

How can you help? While these unaccompanied children are in Chicago, they receive housing, meals, and education and engage in recreation and arts and crafts through Heartland Alliance. To assist in meeting the needs of these children, Fourth Church is collecting school and art supplies, books, clothing, and other supplies through Sunday, November 2. A list of needed items is available online here.

Donations can be dropped off at Coffee Hour following Sunday morning worship services or at the reception desk during the week.

Exhibit on Display in the Loggia

If you haven't already seen the latest art exhibit on display in the Loggia, stop by this Sunday! "Art from Esperanza" features artwork created by participants in the programming at Esperanza Community Services, which supports children and adults with developmental challenges.

The collection represents self-expression and the shared humanity of each of those individuals who receive enrichment at Esperanza, which offers individualized therapeutic and educational programs to increase self-esteem and the ability to live independently.

A reception with the artists will be held on Sunday, November 2 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Loggia. We hope to see you then as we celebrate these gifted artists!
