Taizé and Labyrinth Walk Tonight
|
A Time of Contemplative Singing and Prayer
|
A service in the style of Taizé, which incorporates prayer, singing, and silent reflection, will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Buchanan Chapel.
The Taizé service provides an opportunity to gather in a contemplative, prayerful setting at the end of a busy week. Candles; easy-to-learn songs from various countries, traditions, and languages; and a period of silence all contribute to a time to reflect and to open oneself to God.
The service will be preceded by opportunity to walk the labyrinth in Buchanan Chapel between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.
Time:
Friday, June 27
Between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m., Labyrinth Walk
7:30 p.m., Taizé Service
Place:
Buchanan Chapel

Sponsor New Hymnals!
|
Between now and Sunday, September 14, members and friends of Fourth Church are invited to take advantage of a rare opportunity: Sponsoring new hymnals in their family's name, their own name, or in the name of someone they want to memorialize or honor.
Personalized bookplates will be placed in each Glory to God hymnal prior to the first Sunday of Advent, when we will begin using this new Presbyterian hymnal, which Session approved for purchase in December of last year.
Sponsorship forms, as well as additional information about the hymnals--which contain all of the hymns we sing from our current hymnal as well as wonderful new settings of the psalms, more Taizé music, and songs from around the world--can be found online, in the pew racks, and during Coffee Hour this Sunday morning.
