Welcome, Shannon!
As you will have seen on Facebook, Shannon Kershner's first day in the office here at Fourth Church was this past Monday. This weekend she'll be joined by her family as together they return to Fourth Church for the first Sunday since she was called to be our next Pastor. Since Shannon will not be involved in worship leadership this Sunday morning, she is excited to have the opportunity to experience and learn about all the many other things that go on at Fourth Church on Sundays, from Coffee Hour hospitality to Children's Chapel to youth activities--and much more!

Countdown to 100!
The Centennial of the Sanctuary
The centennial of the Sanctuary is a little more than a week away! Come be a part of a truly historic Fourth Church moment on Sunday, May 18--a day that only comes once every 100 years!
We will gather after the 11:00 a.m. service for an anniversary reception--which will include food from Ditka's--to give thanks for our first century on Michigan Avenue.
As part of that celebration we will also launch with great enthusiasm our next century, welcoming Shannon Kershner for her first Sunday preaching as our new Pastor. She will preach at all four services on May 18.
We hope you'll join us for what promises to be an exciting and memorable day in the history of Fourth Church!

Dedicating the Chapel Sculpture
In Memory of Dana Ferguson Myers
This Sunday during the 11:00 a.m. service we will dedicate the new Buchanan Chapel art installation in memory of Dana Ferguson Myers. Dana joined the Fourth Church staff as Associate Pastor for Mission in 1998 and was named Executive Associate Pastor in 2005, a position she held until her death at the age of forty-two in 2008. The seventeen-foot-long sculpture, created by Alyson Shotz, is the newest piece of the Jeanne and Tom Olofson Collection of Sacred Art at Fourth Church and is made possible by the generosity of the Olofsons and dozens of Dana's friends and family.
