We are overjoyed to announce that, at today's congregational meeting, the congregation enthusiastically and overwhelmingly elected the Reverend Shannon Johnson Kershner to serve as the next Pastor of Fourth Presbyterian Church.

This is a historic day in our life together, and we look forward with eagerness to the great hope and promise that lies ahead as Shannon and Fourth Church join together in ministry.

In the days to come, please join in holding in prayer Shannon; her husband, Greg; their daughter, Hannah; their son, Ryan; and their beloved church family, the congregation of Black Mountain Presbyterian Church, as they go through the difficult experiences of good-byes and leave-taking.

Also watch Facebook and the Fourth Church website for photos of this important day as well as more information about welcoming Shannon and her family into our midst. Shannon will begin her call here on May 1 and preach her first sermon from the Fourth Church pulpit on Sunday, May 18, the day we celebrate our building's centennial--and the beginning of a wonderful new century!

In her remarks to the congregation today, reflecting on the call to Fourth Church, Shannon declared that she is "All In" and said the one thing she needs to know from us is that we are, too.

We are, Shannon.

We are All In!

Thanks be to God!
