The mission of Cash Lovell Stables is to be a magical place where horse and horse lover come together. We will be the best riding academy in the country, measured by our commitment to safety, honesty, service, excellence in every task, hard work, kindness, an unmatched work ethic, and a commitment to bettering communities near and far. We will innovate constantly and set the standard for the horse industry.

Cash Lovell Stables team members dedicate ourselves every day to our personal families and to our barn family. We are role models for our riders, and loving stewards of our horses. We work every day with God's grandest creatures: His children and His horses. We never forget that this work is a Supreme honor and privilege.

We believe that people who are born loving horses are kindred spirits. We believe that children who learn to ride, care for and show horses grow and learn unparalleled life and leadership skills. We believe that people of all ages live better lives because of the joy our barn and our horses bring.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Dear friends,
A few snapshots from our crazy CLS world: Piglet sunning, Grace kissing, Emma Grace getting her beloved Sassy, Cashlyn taking to the stage, Jessie James fundraising for Ronald McDonald House, saddle surprises, witch doctors and vaulting!!

My eyes and ears report so much that my heart can't comprehend. Sometimes I just stop. And wonder. In the same world in which I live with my perfectly pink, spunky daughter, there is a baby girl who was duct-taped to her crib. Local nurses see horrors like this routinely, they tell me. In Winston-Salem? Yes, they assure me.

Outside of our happy little barn bubble, there are major problems. Our area tops the charts for NC cities with the most hungry children. Forsyth and Guilford Counties both have more homeless people living in them than nearly all other NC counties combined.  And according to the latest Youth Risk Assessment Survey of our local schools, 61 percent of our teens regularly drink alcohol. Nearly 43 percent of our high schoolers smoke pot.  Teen pregnancy rates continue to shoot up. No wonder the local drop out rate is so high.

So much craziness and need, right under our very blessed noses. For weeks now as I thought about which charity we should highlight and support for our Annual Spring Charity Fun Show, I found myself overwhelmed. There is much need in the world. Lordy. There is an overwhelming amount in our backyard. And there are many worthy charities and programs struggling to meet the need.

Then it struck me. Why do we have to pick one? Why not ask folks to give to whatever organization or program feels right for them? We can come together for a day of magnificent fun with our families and horses. And we can dedicate our time together to others who aren't as fortunate -- by helping in some way, large or small. I think we'll be amazed at the impact one group of impassioned people can make. And I'm going to keep track to prove it!

Please take a moment with your family to discuss what you can do to help another human or animal soul, who is struggling to share this marvelous earth with us right now. Then make a plan to help. When we gather on May 3 for The Fun Show, Team CLS will do our part. We will collect the money, or donated items, and we will distribute to the appropriate recipients. I have a team of Barn Moms on the ready to help make this happen. We're going to keep a list -- I hope it's a long one! -- of our barn family's good work. We will display this in the coming weeks at the barn.

I can hardly wait to see our children staring at that list. I want them to take pride in helping others. I want their perspectives to widen -- their awareness to sharpen. What I really want is to inspire. The only way I know how to change the world is through young people. Our babies can bring about exponential change. In their lifetimes, think of the collective good they can do. Think of the world they can build. Our job is to lead by example.

This is my calling. It's the reason I'm alive, at this time, in this magnificent old place surrounded by dust bunnies, a real bunny, cobwebs, a spoiled pig, two rotten dogs, and God's grandest creatures: His children and His horses.

If you haven't already, please sign up for The Fun Show. Join us. We have important work to do!

Parker
P.S. Invite your family, friends, neighbors -- heck we don't care -- stop strangers on the street and invite them too! Just come to our Fun Show! We will eat (of course!) and we will ride our wonderful school horses in a horse show. And then we'll watch The Kentucky Derby together on the big screen. (And we might sneak a sip of Mint Julip too! Wallace, don't forget the fresh mint! Jeff and Steve, get ready to mix!) We promise, you'll be glad you came!

 Big News!

Cash Lovell Stables is home to an amazing new healing program for cancer fighters!

Longtime CLS friend, Lynette Forest, chose our facility as homebase for an unprecedented healing program she is launching. Lynette has battled cancer since age 23. She is still alive, she says, in large part because of being empowered and inspired by horses. Say Neigh To Cancer will provide a safe, nurturing, healing place where cancer fighters and horses can meet and help each other.

Lynette is a PATH International Certified Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor. She's also a Registered nurse, and she is a prosector, holding a Master's Degree in Human Anatomy. She also is Mom to two precious little boys who are CLS riders!

For more information on this incredible program, please visit their website at www.sayneightocancer.org.  Or email Lynette directly at info@sayneightocancer.org.

 Volunteers are needed!
