Jonah had no interest - he actually hated the people of Nineveh - so when God told him to go and warn them, he went the opposite direction!  God said, "Go East," and Jonah said, "I'm going West!"

Karen Tucker!  She is the new face you see in the office.  If you are in the area, please feel free to knock on the door and meet her for yourself.  She really is a nice person!  Also, if you have anything you need taking care of, she is the person to go to.  
 

A new group is forming for young families to get together with or without their children to play, have breakfast, exchange clothes and/or toys.  The first meeting will be held on October 4 at 9 am at Jessica Ahlers' home located at: 160 Springleaf Dr., Bolingbrook, IL. The next date for Script will be September 11.  There will be no orders in October.

Something new and exciting is here for Sunday School this fall: Sunday School is held during the worship service for Kindergarten through 5th grade, beginning today.  The children are excused from worship after the time of Praise and Worship, and led through an excellent curriculum. Junior and Senior High and Adult Sunday School is held after the worship service. We believe this is an exciting time for our children as they gather with other children their age. The Evening Bible Study groups begin September 9. The Women's Evening Bible Study will meet at Steven's Restaurant in Downers Grove at 6 pm.  The Men's Evening Bible Study will meet at the church for a cookout, also at 6 pm. For the first 5 weeks, the men will be studying the book entitled "Always True" by James Macdonald.  There is a sign up sheet, this week, in the church for those men who are interested so that the correct amount of books may be ordered. The 'regular' Evening Bible Study groups will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at the following   locations: Men: Fellowship Hall; Women: Church Office.  All are welcome.
