The Week of August 17, 2014

We will look at another vision of Daniel, that parallels the dream Nebuchadnezzar had in Chapter 2.  This vision will point out some of the incredibly awful things people will do to one another throughout history, and at the end of history. The "life lessons" for us, as followers of Jesus Christ, is to realize that God is in control, people will always oppose His kingdom. We need to always be vigilant in what God has given us to do, and - always - be people who live by faith, not fear.

Something new and exciting is happening to our Sunday School ministry...stay tuned!!

 

 

The Evening Bible Study groups begin September 9. The Women's Evening Bible Study will meet at Steven's Restaurant in Downers Grove at 6 pm.  The Men's Evening Bible Study will meet at the church for a cookout, also at 6 pm. For the first 5 weeks, the men will be studying the book entitled "Always True" by James Macdonald.  There is a sign up sheet, this week, in the church for those men who are interested so that the correct amount of books may be ordered. The 'regular' Evening Bible Study groups will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at the following   locations: Men: Fellowship Hall; Women: Church Office.  All are welcome.

 

 

 

Pastor Howard will begin a 5-week study on the Book of Jonah beginning September 7.  You are invited to participate in a small group Bible Study and discussion for those 5 weeks, based on those messages.  The groups will meet in various homes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.  You can select an evening that works best for you.  Joining together with others for study, prayer and encouragement is a tremendous blessing.  We hope you will seriously consider this great opportunity.  There will be sign up sheets in your bulletins.
