The week of: June 29, 2014
This Week's Message
"Solomon the Evangelist" ~ 1 Kings 8:41-43 and Ephesians 2:11-22

Lou Bury, preaching

We as humans like to exclude people.  We can be clubby, cliquey, call it what you may. Anthropologists claim that we are tribal by nature; that it is a defense mechanism against other tribes.  Yet the Gospel, ever counter-cultural, is anti-tribal.  At the dedication of the temple, Solomon prayed for the "foreigners" he hoped would visit and worship there.  Likewise, Paul claims in Ephesians that in Christ there are neither "foreigners" nor "strangers."
