HEAR ME ROAR: A Study of the Book of Daniel

 "Facing the Fire" ~ Daniel 3:1-30

We will look at the story of the 3 men who would not bow before Nebuchadnezzar's statue because of their commitment to God.  They are threatened, refuse to bow, and are thrown into the fiery furnace.  There is a great statement of faith in these verses - "Even if we are not delivered, we will not bow down before your statue."  They are rescued.  The challenge for us is to stay true to God on matter what we face, because we will all face "fiery events" in our lives.  We are challenged to trust in God no matter what the consequences.

On Sunday, Starr and I begin our 3rd year of ministry with you, the wonderful people of the Downers Grove Community Church.  Immediately following the service we will have a "Nummy Celebration" as Starr and I share our favorite cake with you.  Enjoy and thank you.

This group is an extension of the Prayer Concerns posted in the weekly bulletin, where we pray for the needs of the church and community is lifted up in prayer.  We will be meeting on the following Sundays: June 1, 15 and 29 at 9 am just before Sunday service in the classroom near the front entrance of church.  All are welcome and encouraged to join in and bring your prayer requests.
