PHDC NEWSLETTER
ISSUE #83  NOVEMBER, 2015
Dear , PHDC logo

As you may have heard at PHDC's October meeting, the Sierra Club, one of our most important local progressive organizations, is under attack from SF BARF and its real-estate-lobby backers. Sierra Club members, it's time to vote - for real environmental leaders. Read more below.

Many thanks to those who helped us get the good word out before the recent election by hand-delivering our door-hangers . Win or lose, we gotta keep trying. I am personally thrilled by Aaron Peskin's victory in District 3.

Now let's do the holidays.

Prevent hostile takeover of SF Sierra Club; vote now!
Sierra Club logo Sierra Club members: It's time to cast your vote to protect strong environmental leadership on the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Group of the Sierra Club, and help stop the takeover attempt by luxury real estate lobbyists.

Read more about the very aggressive, shady Anti-Sierra Club Takeover Campaign in:  Why Are Redditors and a Cyber Bully Trying to Take Over San Francisco's Sierra Club? and Pro-development group seeks to take over local Sierra Club.

Please vote now! Cast your ballot by clicking here. You can easily tell which are the hand-picked corporate candidates attempting the takeover: they joined the Sierra Club in 2014 or 2015 (see candidate statements).  The 5 other ones make up the Clean and Green slate. Thanks.

Oct 6th Drought Forum video is up
Drought Forum
On Oct 6, we presented a Drought & Climate Change forum at the Nabe, co-sponsored by SF Tomorrow and SF4Democracy. If you missed this excellent program - or if you want to revisit it - Jeff Whittington of San Francisco Tomorrow shot a video, the first part of which is linked at left, and also on PHDC's web site. Moderated by former CPUC president Loretta Lynch, the panel included Jennifer Clary, Water Program Manager, Clean Water Action; Barry Nelson, BCDC Commissioner; Adam Scow, California Director of Food and Water Watch.
