PHDC NEWSLETTER
ISSUE #82  OCTOBER, 2015
Dear , PHDC logo

It's all about the vote! You can vote at City Hall now. No lines. If you have a mail-in ballot, we encourage you to send it a.s.a.p.; mailed-in ballots are counted first on Election Day. Mail-in ballots that are delivered to a poling place on November 3rd are counted last.

There's still plenty of activity happening around our endorsed candidates and campaigns.

PHDC Festival table This past Saturday, we enjoyed a great day tabling at the Potrero Hill Festival (at left): fun and lively interactions with candidates, campaigns, and neighbors. Sunday found us on Valencia St. at Sunday Streets in the Mission, registering voters like mad, and of course campaigning for our endorsed propositions and candidates. doorhanger front doorhanger back

For the past week or so, PHDC members have been walking local precincts, hanging our endorsement slate on doors all over the Hill and Dogpatch. For a closeup of the hangers, click on the back and/or front thumbnail images at right.

Oct 6th meeting followup
boat in drought What is the impact of the worst drought in 1300 years on San Francisco, its residents and the Bay environment? Are we doing enough? There was both optimism and pessimism from the brilliant panelists at our last meeting, who kept the audience riveted.

Thank you Jennifer Clary, Water Program Manager at Clean Water Action,  Barry Nelson, Bay Conservation & Development Commissioner & Principal at Western Water Strategies, Adam Scow, California Director of Food & Water Watch, and moderator Loretta Lynch, former president of CA Public Utilities Commission.

If you missed this excellent program - or if you want to revisit it - Jeff Whittington of San Francisco Tomorrow shot a video, which should be finished soon. Check for the link on the left side of our web site home page.

Coming November 12: Citizens' Climate Lobby SF chapter throws its first party
And yes, it's a fundraiser too. While climate change and the mission of Citizens' Climate Lobby are dead-serious, activism can and should at times be fun. Here's the flyer.
