A Little Help Over Here? Technical Assistance Linked to Successful Primary Care Transformation |
 | |
The green line indicates significant primary care quality improvement gains following eight technical assistance visits. |
Higher levels of technical assistance are associated with improved quality of primary care, according to a study in the January 2013 issue of Health Affairs. Data from the NYC Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) showed that physicians who had eight technical assistance training (TA) visits and nine to 24 months of exposure to PCIP assistance made significant quality improvement gains in EHR-sensitive quality of care measures (e.g. breast cancer, diabetes, chlamydia and colorectal cancer screenings).
