ADVOCATING FOR MILITARY CULTURE CHANGE

"Singers" in the Band

30 years in the making, "SINGERS" IN THE BAND takes us behind the scenes to expose the links between the U.S. military and global sex trafficking.

This unique documentary feature film directed by Academy Award® winning filmmaker David Goodman has been supported by Fork Films along the way.

INVISIBLE NO MORER

The Invisible War

The Oscar® nominated groundbreaking investigative documentary that exposed the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military has been a call for our civilian and military leadership to listen and to act.

Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick of THE INVISIBLE WAR has been hard at work pounding the pavement for change through the non-partisan coalition Invisible No More. They have met with decision makers from the White House to Members of Congress on Capitol Hill, with research institutions and the media.

The filmmakers urge you to call your senator now and ask them to co-sponsor the Military Justice Improvement Act and move the prosecution of military rape out of the chain of command.

CONGRATULATIONS

We are thrilled to extend our warmest congratulations to OUT IN THE NIGHT and SIMPLE JUSTICE that received grants from the Sundance Institute in July.

Out in the Night
OUT IN THE NIGHT tells the story of 4 friends, out for a night in NYC, who became known as a “Gang of Killer Lesbians” after they defended themselves against a violent man on the street.

They became known in activist circles as "The New Jersey 7" or "The New Jersey 4". One of the women remains in prison today.

The film is currently in post production.

SIMPLE JUSTICE: After 435 days in prison, a Chinese immigrant in Indianapolis is free on bail. Can her attorney clear the charges of murder and attempted feticide, or will she go to jail for her crime – attempting suicide while pregnant?

Bei Bei Shuai and her lawyer Linda Pence leave Marion County Jail in Indianapolis
Bei Bei Shuai and her lawyer leave Marion County Jail in Indianapolis in May 2012.

The trial for the Chinese immigrant, Bei Bei Shuai, has been set for September 2013. Ms. Shuai made her first public appearance in April 2013 at a rally in Indianapolis demanding Terry Curry drop the charges, which the SIMPLE JUSTICE filmmakers attended and filmed. You can read more about the rally by clicking here.

SIMPLE JUSTICE is from acclaimed directors Marion Lipschutz and Rose Rosenblatt (THE EDUCATION OF SHELBY KNOX). There isn't a website up yet for the film, but you can either learn more about the filmmakers on their official website, or follow news about Bei Bei Shuai on the Huffington Post.
CITIZEN KOCH

From Academy Award® nominated filmmakers Carl Deal and Tia Lessin (TROUBLE THE WATER) comes CITIZEN KOCH, a story from the front lines in the battle for the future of our democracy.

The film asks who really has the power in America, the wealthiest donors or the voting public? The answers call into question the very meaning of citizenship.
