What's the Point?
Why do I send you these updates? I'm not a blogger. I'm a recruiter. I love helping people follow God's calling on their lives. Writing is not my favorite thing...
HERE is why I send these!!
1) To encourage you in your Kingdom investments.
As Kingdom workers, I believe one of our greatest opportunities and responsibilities is to tell the stories of what God is doing through our ministries in order to make Him famous. As prayer and financial supporters, you are being obedient to God's call to engage in the Great Commission just as we are, and it is a privilege to share with you how your partnership is bearing fruit.
2) To pray with you and for you.
We need your prayer. Please watch the sidebar for verses, praises and requests to take to Jesus with and for us. We want to be praying for and with you; let us know what's going on in your lives that you would like us to intercede on.
3) To invite you to "receive a reward for your kindness".
Paul said "I don't say this because I want a gift from you. Rather, I want you to receive a reward for your kindness." (Philippians 4:17). God is passionate about our relationships with Him becoming deeper and more reflective of His glory and love. THAT is the point of inviting people to join us in His work.
Encouragement - Thank You
- God is doing amazing things within and through CA!
- We want to share these stories of changed lives
- The glory and praise belongs to God
Life changing stories do more to express the essential nature of church planting than anything else. The "Great Commission" as expressed in Matthew 28:19 tells us to "make disciples" not to "plant churches." Within CA, "churches who follow Jesus in transforming their world" (our CA mission statement) ultimately incarnates the love of Christ, and people walk toward him into faithful, transformed lives. The lives our staff touch in the name of Jesus are the disciples who will lead our churches into a mature tomorrow.
I look forward to continuing to share more stories of life change in the coming year!
Why Raise Support?
Do you know that support-raising is not about money? Paul was quite clear about this issue in his letter to the Christian Philippians who had sent money and supplies to help him. Paul understood that their involvement in his ministry through sending gifts was directly connected to their relationships with God. You see, God doesn't lack anything (Acts 17:24-25), so He can accomplish His mission however He wants. We must break our bad habit of thinking God can't do His work unless we get enough money for Him. He is not dependent on us!
When we invite you to participate with us in what God is doing, we are ministering to you, sharing an opportunity to
invest in your relationship with God. How sad to think of the many times I've misrepresented God by sheepishly and hesitantly inviting people to get involved in what He's doing!
