Kids Yoga with Dee Marie
CALMING KIDS (CK): Creating a Non-Violent World is a fun, interactive, educational and relaxing training for yoga teachers, educational professionals, school counselors, health care providers, or interested parents.
CALMING KIDS instructs mini workshops teaching participants how to use classical yoga within the school day curriculum or studio for Pre-school through High School age students. The YTOC CK experience will include breathing and pranayama practices for children, yoga asanas, dancing and/or movement activities, chanting/singing, concentration techniques and relationship games. Participants will learn centering ideas useful for themselves, enabling them to be an effective model for students. The CALMING KIDS program has won both state and national awards for its innovation and contribution to the lives of children and teachers. Four years of research was completed to prove the efficacy of the CK curriculum and the remarkable results were presented at the International Association of Yoga Therapy Conference in 2008.

PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Seasons Greetings Dear Sweet Yogi's,
I hope that you have enjoyed many dear sweet moments with your friends and family and during the holidays. On this New Years Day, 2013, take some time to cultivate peacefulness and acceptance for your self and your surroundings. May you BE grateful and accepting of what lessons 2012 gifted you with. Many of my wonderful teachers have shared insights for the new year. Here are a couple of those that I want to pass along ...
- We are each being asked to heal and transform certain energies and karmic patterns unique to ourselves. As we heal those patterns and energies within ourselves we assist the earth and the collective consciousness in making the necessary shift in consciousness. This will be a year of great transformation continuing, as we move more toward harmony and peace with ourselves, with the Earth and with life. The shift is being birthed through each one of us.
~ Saul David Raye - Can you resolve to just BE in 2013? That could be the hardest resolve you could make. Through experience, I am sure you will find it the most rewarding. "In the Being, the doing gets done." Explore your life. I explore aspects of my life through teaching. In the teaching, students bring in questions. I have to ponder and research for the best response. Many of the classes offered at the studio are because I choose to continuing growing my yoga.
~ Hansa Knox - "A secret freedom opens through a crevice you can barely see."
~ Rumi -via- Yogeshwari Cindy Lawrence - Contraction and expansion, all at the same time. Our Reawakening is more than down-sizing or right-sizing; it's about prioritizing YOUR experience.
~ Swami Nirmalananda Have you been to the YTOC Website (http://www.ytoc.org) lately? I am most grateful for Ty Hammes at Gavea Designs ( http://www.gaveadesigns.com/) for working hard to give our website a much needed face lift and fix some long time problems. There are still a few improvements in the works that should be completed later this week. Please take some time to have a look at the newly remodeled website and let me know if you have any questions.
We would love to have members submit content for BLOG posts. If you have anything at all that you might like to have added to the BLOG to be shared with our yoga community, please pass it along.
Note that there are several spots on the new website for advertising. That is advertising space available for members only! Please email me if you have any interest in advertising, and I will pass along the details as soon as they are finalized.
