WEB DESIGN - STEPHEN HAWK

Seeking Organizations for Spring 2013 Management Information Systems, Information Technology Foundations Course- Professor Hawk is seeking organizations that need assistance in designing and developing their web site.  Students can provide the following kinds of services:

         Determine web site requirements

Design and develop new web pages

Work with existing web content to revise the design and develop revised web pages

Assist in selecting a hosting service and upload new content to the web site.

Since this is not a graphics design class, students are limited to creating basic graphics and incorporating images in web pages.

If your organization would like to participate in this spring semester CBL project, or if you have questions, please contact Amanda DesLauriers at 262-595-2652 or e-mail her at deslauri@uwp.edu

OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT - ABEY KURUVILLA

Seeking Organizations for Spring 2013 Operations Management Principles Course - Students work with community partners looking at organizational process and/or procedures and make suggestions for improvements that will streamline procedures and reduce bottlenecks.  Students can work on projects involving process improvement; quality control; inventory management; and scheduling issues.

Previously this class worked with HALO, Inc to help redesign their donation intake space and make it a more efficient space for clients to be able to utilize.  This included a hair salon, a "resale shop" for clients, and a secure place to keep sensitive paperwork.  Brenda Thomas, Development Assistant at HALO, said "Each issue was addressed and, we strongly feel, successful solutions were presented.  During the PowerPoint, both [students] were able to show us our needs, their design...and how their work will impact our room and our efficiency."

If your organization would like to participate in this spring semester CBL project, please e-mail Debra Karp at debra.karp@uwp.eduor call with questions at 262-595-2367.
