Reflection:  Being the Light

"Be the light...in the dark, let it shine on through.  When you're searching for your way, find the light inside of you." - T. Alvord

Beloved friends, we are entering the season of light, and the next few weeks give us opportunities to come together in love and healing.

This Saturday, The Reverend and the Rabbi annual holiday extravaganza takes place at the Suttons Bay Congregational Church at 7:30 PM.
Free will donations will go the United Way of Northern Michigan.  I'll be sharing an amazing tale called, "The Journey to Paradise - healing for these political times."
Then, Sunday morning, here at the UU, we'll host our Annual Holiday Pageant (one service, 10:30 AM) with another great story and a rabbi in jammies; shared laughter will be good for our souls.
A week hence we will honor another sweet UUCGT tradition:  our Annual Poetry Service.  Please bring a poem to read - one that you love.
Then of course, a unique UU contribution to the community:  our Christmas Eve at the State!  6 PM, tickets are free (and required).

I share all this not to reiterate our beautiful calendar, but to invite, invite, invite you, including those whose hearts are hurting, especially if you need hope, joy and community, please come.  Your UU community wants, loves and needs you.  It is going to be a special holiday season of healing, and will be brighter if you are part of it.

In love,
Chava

Sharing & Caring

Bill Wells was in intensive care last week with an infection in his new hip.  His doctors feel they have the infection under control, and it seems this means the new hip will not need to be removed.  He still has shingles, has started chemo treatments again, and is quite weak.  Bill is now back at Tendercare in Suttons Bay.
