Morning Prayer

It is my practice to endeavor to say Morning Prayer in the Chapel of the Church on Tuesday -Friday each week at 9am.
I would be interested in knowing of anyone who would like to join me. Morning Prayer takes about 25 minutes.

I would also like to hear from those of you working downtown, which I believe is referred to as downcity here, who might be interested in saying Evening Prayer and or celebrating Eucharist at least one evening a week at around 5.30PM.

Please email me your thoughts.

Best wishes.

Mark+

Rector Recap

This last Sunday I wrote and spoke about one of the chief difficulties about forgiveness is that as modern people, being more in tune with our emotions we find it hard to forgive what we cannot forget. Our minds, from a very early age weave a narrative or life story that functions to explain to our self and to others, who we are and why we are the way we are. If you are interested to read more you can do so at at relationalrealities.com.

It was good to get the new church formation program off to a lively start this last Sunday. Thanks go to Jen Potter and her parent helpers in the Kidzone, and to Linda Griggs with the Youth4mation. We are looking forward this coming Sunday to the launch of a new imitative with our youth and their families entitled Dinner Church. Please note a correction from last week's E News, this begins at 5pm not 5.30pm!

Confirmation classes for 14-15 year olds will commence in the latter part of January 2015. There might also be a number of adults who would like to be confirmed, received, or affirmed?  Confirmation is the process for an adult from a Protestant or non-church background wishing to become a formal member of the Episcopal Church. Reception is for an adult from a Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or Lutheran background. Affirmation is offered to Episcopalians who wish to affirm their earlier confirmation. For any adults considering one of these options attendance at Episcopal-101 will be required. Ep-101 will run in conjunction with the coffee hour following the 10am Eucharist on Sundays. Please watch for announcements concerning when this will begin.

The numbers of people signing up for Altar Guild and Acolyte ministry training sessions is very gratifying. I will meet with the acolytes at 11.30 this coming Sunday and with those curious to know more about the ministry of the Altar Guild on Wednesday October 1st at 7pm. Please let me know if you wanted to attend either of these trainings but are unable to make the dates and we can arrange alternative opportunities.

It's good to see people coming back after the summer. See you, in Church, this coming Sunday!

Yours in Christ,

Mark+
