St. Martin's Church

I mentioned in passing during a Sunday announcement time that "it takes a village" - to put on Holy Week and Easter. And so it does. We are in the midst of it all - the Good Friday liturgy, Easter Vigil and Easter Day are still to come - and so many people have been and are involved. Your office staff has gone above and beyond to coordinate activities, invite participants, and produce the bulletins and other materials for these important days of worship. So many of you have responded, agreeing to serve as readers, Eucharistic ministers, acolytes, ushers...Our music program is taking up its heaviest schedule of the year, the formation program is engaged, the hospitality folks are gearing up.

What an opportunity to come together and work towards a common goal - and what an example of the ability of St. Martin's Church to do just that. The riches of our parish - yes, financial resources, physical space... but much more importantly, the gifts and abilities of its people - are very evident. It bodes well as you all move into a new season of ministry here in this place.

Come to these final hours of the Triduum and then Easter Day. Add your voices and prayers and gifts to the mix. May we enter this time with such an openness of heart and spirit that we truly know the transforming power of the Resurrection.
