From the Interim Rector

Last week I encouraged us all to observe the Triduum, the three sacred days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Great Vigil of Easter.  While these are the core days of our Holy Week observance, there are other opportunities to worship throughout the week.

Celebrations of the Eucharist on Monday and Tuesday at Noon, and then the regular Wednesday 7 am Eucharist (known this coming week as "Spy Wednesday" - come and find out why) will set the stage for all that is to come at the end of the week. On Wednesday evening we will gather at 7:30 pm in the chapel for the ancient service of Tenebrae, a service of Psalms and readings and gradually diminishing light. Friday at Noon brings Stations of the Cross, a perhaps surprisingly moving opportunity to walk meditatively with Jesus on the way to Calvary.

I hope you will find in the many offerings from St. Martin's this coming week those opportunities to be strengthened and moved and drawn on to the joys of Easter.

Message from the Vestry
The Vestry is pleased to announce that they have unanimously elected the next
Rector
of St. Martin's!

The Letter of Agreement is now being finalized.  Out of courtesy to the candidate's congregation and so as to remain focused on our Lord's Resurrection, the announcement will be made on the Monday after Easter.

At this time, we would like to thank our Discernment Team for their months of service:  Mary Gray (Chair), Kate Chute, John Condon, Mary DiSandro, Bill Hollinshead, Jane Langmuir, Fla Lewis, and David Whitman.

We would also like to thank our Vestry for their time and effort this past week that was necessary to elect the candidate and approve his Letter of Agreement.  We are proud of their leadership:  Al Anderson, Lynne Burke, Tom Calhoun, John Condon, John Lawlor, Edmund Leather, Fred Mason, Jennifer Potter, Jill Scott, Joseleyne Slade, and Dennis Stark.
