Havurot at BBQ & Barekhu! The Temple Emunah Havurah Program encourages members of all Temple Emunah havurot to attend the BBQ & Barekhu on Friday, June 14. In addition to an evening of good food, music and song, you will have the opportunity to meet other havurot, swap ideas, and share your experience with people interested in joining havurot. The word "Havurah" (havurot - plural) comes from the Hebrew word "haver" meaning "friend." Each Havurah becomes a small community which celebrates Jewish life together on a regular basis. Kulanu: All of Us: Join Rabbi Lerner on Saturday, June 15, 10:30 AM in the Large Chapel for this special interactive prayer experience. Blending elements of the Learning Minyan with Family Minyan, Kulanu is a wonderful way for people of all levels of experience to enjoy Shabbat morning services! FLYER
Coffee Talk with the Rabbis - everyone is welcome to meet up with our rabbis as they share a coffee and great conversation at these local venues: Brookhaven in Lexington on June 20 with Rabbis Lerner and Fel, and Panera in Lexington on June 27 with Rabbi Fel, all at 2:00 PM. Joint Kabbalat Shabbat with Temple Isaiah -- Next Friday, June 21, at 6:15 PM (Minhah at 6:00 PM) we'll host members of Temple Isaiah for a special joint Kabbalat Shabbat service! We will use siddurim and melodies from both traditions. Click HERE for details!
Tot Shabbat with Rabbi Fel: Saturday, June 22nd - Tot Shabbat is a service geared towards families with kids ages 0-5 years old. We meet for an hour of singing, prayers, stories, a Torah march, and more! We end with a snack before joining the main congregation for a Kiddush lunch. This event is free and no RSVP is necessary!
Conversations at Brookhaven ~ Join Rabbi Fel on June 25, 9:30-10:30AM for dynamic and exciting learning. The topic for the June classes is "The Changing Role of Women in the Jewish Community: Education". The classes meet at Brookhaven at Lexington (1010 Waltham Street), and are open to all Temple Emunah Members. Join the 30+ people who gather for every learning session!
RELEASE YOUR INNER FARMER - The Lexington Interfaith Garden is well into its fourth year of growing food for distribution by the Lexington Food Pantry. Last year we delivered 1,637 lbs. We do everything from soil preparation through planting, weeding and harvesting, all under the expert direction of our head gardener, so no gardening knowledge is needed. Temple Emunah is assigned to work two Tuesdays a month, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. Our dates from now through August are June 25, July 9 and 23 and August 6 and 20. Se'udah Shlisheet: Saturday, June 29th - Save the date for our special Minhah, Se'udah Shlisheet (the third meal of Shabbat), Ma'ariv and Havdalah, featuring Rabbi Fel's own Deli Roll! More details to follow.
Tour de Shuls: Sunday, June 30th - For the second exciting year, the Tour de Shuls bike ride will be exploring the North Shore! We will explore these beautiful seaside communities while raising money for the Tikvah special needs program of Camp Ramah. This program is organized by the New England Region of the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs. For more information, click HERE.
Wednesday Mornings - Over a light breakfast, Rabbis Lerner and Fel teach about the Halakhah (Jewish legal) and spiritual aspects of prayer. Join us each week after minyan for breakfast and learning. Minyan is 7:00 AM-7:30 AM and breakfast follows from 7:35 - 8:15 AM.
