FOLLIES
Director / Choreographer: Arryck Adams
Producer: Shawn W. Lanz
Music Director: Lisa Yaldezian

PERFORMANCES:
November 13 through December 13, 2015
Thurs, Fri, & Sat at 8:00pm; Sun at 2:00pm
(No performance November 26 - Thanksgiving Day)

PLOT:
A true theatrical event, this legendary masterpiece is considered by many to be the greatest musical ever created. Surreal, sophisticated, compelling, heart-wrenching, and epic in scope, FOLLIES was penned by musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim and author James Goldman, and uses musical theatre as a metaphor for the collapse of American innocence and naiveté in the post-Kennedy years.
The time is 1971, and theatre impresario Dimitri Weissman is hosting a reunion of ex-Follies performers in his crumbling theatre, setting the stage for a parade of brilliant pastiche numbers including "Losing My Mind," "I'm Still Here," and "Broadway Baby." Amid the reminiscing, two middle-aged couples confront some unpleasant truths about their past and present ... and come face-to-face with the future. ~ RATED PG

Lanz and Courtney Potter for Conejo Players Theatre, Loveland Burlesque is conceived and directed by Arryck Adams and Julie Alice Auxier as an old-time burlesque show, peppered with modern flair. Award-winning performers from all over Ventura and Los Angeles Counties will take the stage for this unique event on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the stroke of midnight. Your ticket includes hors-d'oeuvres before (and during) the show -- and a no-host bar with a selection of wine and beer will delight those 21 and over! (Special combo tickets for the December 5th performance of Follies, followed by Loveland Burlesque at 12midnight, are also available.)

Please note: The performers of Loveland Burlesque, like their vaudeville predecessors, are all quite refined ... and just a bit naughty! Since this show is meant for mature audiences, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Reviews for

A delightful, energetic and entertaining production of Jason Robert Brown's "13 the Musical." It was certainly a great way to launch into autumn, showcasing the talents of many local teenage thespians.

"13" proved to be lively fun for all ages and a great introduction to musical theater.
-Cary Ginell

In Memoriam:

We'd like to offer our heartfelt sympathies to the families of two CPT volunteers who have recently passed, and to recognize them for the many contributions they have made to our theatre.

Mitzi Housley volunteered her time as an usher and a box office staff; she was a wonderful, giving person who participated in many volunteer activities in the area.

Mark Dombrowski was a CPT volunteer for 15 years and received multiple Harlequin awards. He performed on stage in The Sound of Music, Finian's Rainbow, 1776, Jesus Christ Superstar, Lil' Abner, and Bye Bye Birdie, just to name a few.
