Director/Music Director: Rebecca Davey
Producer: Jeremy Zeller

PERFORMANCES:
October 2nd through 11th, 2015
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday at 7:00pm
Saturday & Sunday at 2:00pm

PLOT: Evan Goldman is about to turn 13, and he can't wait! His life seems full of possibilities -- that is, until his parents get divorced and he's forced to move with his mom from big-city New York to small-town Appleton, Indiana. If Evan can't get the coolest kids to come to his bar mitzvah, how is he going to survive the school year -- not to mention, the rest of his life? As Evan navigates the world of cool kids and nerds, jocks and cheerleaders, first kisses and heartbreak, he comes to understand "What It Means to Be a Friend." With a bright, catchy pop score from Tony winner Jason Robert Brown, equal doses of humor and pathos, and a cast of wildly talented teens, 13 is irresistible to grown-ups and almost-grown-ups alike. ~ RATED PG

DIRECTOR COMMENTARY:
This is Rebecca Davey's first directorial experience at CPT, but she is no stranger to the stage -- or to the middle school experience.  She taught in the Conejo Valley Unified School District for 34 years, a full 33 of which were at Sequoia Middle School; additionally, she directed Sequoia's choir and musical production for 17 of those years. Her full-time teaching position was as a special education teacher. Now retired from CVUSD, she just can't seem to "get away" from middle school ... or from this show, 13 the Musical (it's her second time directing it).

"Anyone that is close to turning 13 -- or has been 13 (even though you try to forget those times) -- will find something in this show that you'll be able to relate to," says Rebecca. "Each stereotypical middle-schooler is represented, in a humorous way. We're able to see how they handle friendships, conflicts, and growing up."
Rebecca adds, "I chose to double-cast in order to give as many young people as possible a chance to perform in a lead role. I also want to note that this production is the first time CPT has done a full-length musical with children. Additionally, we're thrilled that this show will feature a live four-piece band playing for each performance!"

FOLLIES
Director / Choreographer: Arryck Adams
Producer: Shawn W. Lanz
Music Director: Lisa Yaldezian

PERFORMANCES:
November 13 through December 13, 2015
Thurs, Fri, & Sat at 8:00pm; Sun at 2:00pm
(No performance November 26 - Thanksgiving Day)

PLOT:
A true theatrical event, this legendary masterpiece is considered by many to be the greatest musical ever created. Surreal, sophisticated, compelling, heart-wrenching, and epic in scope, FOLLIES was penned by musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim and author James Goldman, and uses musical theatre as a metaphor for the collapse of American innocence and naiveté in the post-Kennedy years.
The time is 1971, and theatre impresario Dimitri Weissman is hosting a reunion of ex-Follies performers in his crumbling theatre, setting the stage for a parade of brilliant pastiche numbers including "Losing My Mind," "I'm Still Here," and "Broadway Baby." Amid the reminiscing, two middle-aged couples confront some unpleasant truths about their past and present ... and come face-to-face with the future. ~ RATED PG
