PERFORMANCES:
August 28th through September 19th, 2015
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm / Sundays at 2:00pm

PLOT SUMMARY:
Psycho Beach Party is an insanely (literally!) fun romp on Malibu Beach in 1962 -- it's what happens when Gidget, Frankie & Annette, and Alfred Hitchcock are given a shotgun marriage. Teenage tomboy Chicklet Forrest desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd. The one thing getting in her way, however, is her unfortunate tendency towards multiple personalities ... and her most dangerous alter ego -- voracious vixen Ann Bowman -- has nothing less than world domination on her mind! Add men in drag, a B-movie star, and a villain of a mom who would make Joan Crawford cringe, and you've got a zany comedy that the Associated Press calls "fiendishly funny"! What better way to spend your summer? ~RATED PG-13

PLOT SUMMARY:
Evan Goldman is about to turn 13, and he can't wait. His life seems full of possibilities -- that is, until his parents get divorced and he's forced to move with his mom from big-city New York to small-town Appleton, Indiana. If Evan can't get the coolest kids to come to his bar mitzvah, how is he going to survive the school year -- not to mention, the rest of his life? As Evan navigates the world of cool kids and nerds, jocks and cheerleaders, first kisses and heartbreak, he comes to understand "What It Means to Be a Friend." With a bright, catchy pop score from Jason Robert Brown, equal doses of humor and pathos, and a cast of wildly talented teens, 13 is irresistible to grown-ups and almost-grown-ups alike. ~RATED PG

Member Spotlight: Sarah Ely

I recently took on the position of Box Office Manager at Conejo Players Theatre, and I'm really looking forward to the challenge. Everyone who helps at the theatre is a volunteer -- and I'm no stranger to volunteering (I just have to learn to say "no" sometimes). I first started at CPT when my youngest son Jonathan accepted a role in his first show,Alice in Wonderland Jr., when he was 11 years old.

When my family and I moved to Thousand Oaks in 1993, I started working full-time. I decided to volunteer at the elementary school; back then, there wasn't much I could do while working, but I found a way. My older sons were playing baseball in the spring as well as bowling every season. They also played flag football and -- yes -- I was "Team Mom" multiple times. In 1996, Jonathan was born and I quit my job to be a stay-at-home mom. I brought him to Horizon Hills pre-school and kept busy, taking my older sons to their activities and bowling every Wednesday evening in Simi Valley.
