Spring is here and CPT is already prepping for it's third show of the season, The Graduate... which should be noted is a little more risqué than the movie version -- so please leave the kids at home.

And, coming up at the theatre is Lisa Yaldezian's in-depth Music Theory Workshop. Be sure to register by May 11th if you plan to participate.

"If you really want to help American theater, don't be an actress, dahling. Be an audience." - Tallulah Bankhead

Plot summary: Prepare ye to come sing about love! Godspell is one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. Based on the Gospel according  to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score by Stephen Schwartz, Godspell boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, "Day By Day." As the cast performs "Prepare Ye the Way of The Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All For The Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side," the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life. Drawing from various theatrical traditions such as clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics, and vaudeville, the show is a groundbreaking and unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love.

Member Spotlight: Lisa Yaldezian

"Music has been my passion since a very young age. The 50th anniversary of my first piano lesson is next year. How is that possible? When I started playing, I couldn't get enough. My teacher recognized my sight-reading abilities, and started to cover my music, forcing my eyes to read the notes even faster. I would run home from my lessons and have my dad sit next to me on the piano so I could teach him what I had learned that day. Boy, did he have patience.

"I accompanied my first choir at the age of 10, and was immediately hooked on the thrill I got from being able to do so. When I was 13, I received my first paid accompanying job and made $50 to help out some local organizations. Needless to say, it was not only more rewarding, but paid much better than my babysitting jobs.

"When I entered into high school, I began to accompany for the school musicals. I remember Story Continues Here
