How-Do-You-Pick-Music-For-Your-Audition-With-An-Accompanist Workshop with Lisa Yaldezian

April 12th from 10am to 1pm

Have you always been nervous about bringing sheet music to a musical theatre audition? Relied on a music-only track on CD? You could be losing out by not showing off your ability to work with a live accompanist! Join Lisa Yaldezian for an educational workshop on the do's and don'ts of audition sheet music and accompanist etiquette. Lisa will bring her own samples, as well as look over your own music to give you tips in this fun group session ...

NOTE: Please bring three samples of what you would normally bring for an audition.

+ This workshop is for ages 15 and up.

Sound Workshop with Jeremy Zeller
April 12th from 2pm to 4pm

Have you ever walked by a theatre soundboard before a show begins and thought to yourself (or asked aloud), "What do all those knobs do?" Well, now's your chance to find out through Conejo Players Theatre's Sound Technician workshop -- lead by CPT's Executive Technical Director, Jeremy Zeller.

You'll learn all you need to know about running sound for a live theatrical production, including: wireless and wired microphones; monitors and speakers; sound boards, and their accompanying EQ and balance issues; and more! Learn what it takes to run a show from start to finish so both actors and audience can hear ... and no one goes deaf! Sign up today!

NOTE: This workshop is for ages 16 and up.

Children's Audition Workshop Series with Hannah Davey & Company

Two Saturdays: May 17th from 10am to 4pm & May 24th from 10am to 4pm

This wildly popular and long-running Conejo Players workshop will help all levels of youngsters hone their skills in song choice, vocal technique, dance, and cold reading to help them prepare for auditions. The first Saturday is a series of mini-workshops with plenty of practice. The second Saturday, students "audition" in front of local theatre experts who give constructive feedback on their performance. The audition may not be real, but the experience is!

NOTE: This series takes place over TWO Saturdays. When registering, please sign up for BOTH days to fully participate in the workshop.

+ This workshop is for children ages 8-13.

+ Please bring a lunch, snacks, and a drink on both Saturdays.

Stay tuned for addition workshops to be announced!

Pulse Check - Help Us Plan Our Season
The CPT Executive Committee would like to take an informal poll of our fans and friends to see what kind of shows **YOU** would like to see in the coming years at Conejo Players! Think there's a certain play or musical that simply MUST be done on the CPT stage? Now's your chance to let us know!

Head over to our new online poll and share your thoughts. PLEASE NOTE: This does not constitute a submission to direct; this informal survey is for feedback purposes only.

We can't wait to hear from you!

"Bits & Pieces" at the Blackboard Gallery
Cast members and staff from Conejo Players Theatre's upcoming production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile recently attended the opening reception for "Bits & Pieces," an art show at the Blackboard Gallery in Camarillo, operated by Studio Channel Islands Art Center. A collaboration between CPT and SCIART inspired "Bits & Pieces," with a call to artists to submit work that incorporated a rabbit, something from a bar, and an arrow -- all representative of Steve Martin's hilarious play. The art show was juried by Tony Askew, and the three winners were given complimentary tickets to CPT along with their cash prizes.

The winners were Blossom Friel (1st Place), Bob Privitt (2nd Place), and Mary McGill (3rd place). The art show runs now through April 25th in Camarillo ... and the creativity is amazing!

The cast is looking forward to seeing their new artist friends at Picasso at the Lapin Agile -- opening May 9th and running through May 31st at Conejo Players Theatre in Thousand Oaks. Be sure to support both arts organizations with your attendance!
