Message from Donna & Elle
With the 2012 holiday season in full swing, we hope that as you celebrate with your family and friends you are feeling fit and fabulous from a year of commitment to intelligent exercise at CFM. Your Pilates posture and Gyrotonic poise will keep you looking sharp in every photo and help carry you through the New Year. We are inspired by your dedication to these two great methods and look forward to working with you in the next class we take or teach in 2013!
Our studios are buzzing with holiday cheer. While a healthy atmosphere is what you have come to expect at CFM, we all can't resist those delicious holiday treats that are generously bestowed on us – a welcomed diversion from the usual low fat fare (though if you happen to be in one of Melissa’s classes when she brings in her home baked low fat goodies, lucky you!). Speaking of delicious treats, our featured recipe is compliments of our friend, neighbor, and owner of Buon Amici, John Chiappinelli.
We strive to achieve both personal and professional growth in the New Year. But before we set our sights on what’s ahead, we'd like to share with you some of 2012 highlights.
Training Program:
We have begun our Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Comprehensive Pilates Certification program. Morwen Banq has been helping us guide our apprentices in the journey to become certified pilates instructors. We are confident that our program provides instructors with the necessary tools to make a real difference in the overall wellness of their future clients. We look forward to providing you with quality instructors from our pool of graduates. In the meantime, our apprentices are always looking for bodies to practice on. Please let us know if you’d like to book a session with them. Sessions are free of charge! Read more here.
Giving Back:
Throughout the year, it is our great pleasure to donate sessions, classes and offer studio space to causes that are near and dear to our staff, clients, and friends and family.
- Melissa Woyshner has led our Pilates in Pink program offering classes to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
- Danielle Havasy trained for the marathon and raised money for the Christopher and Dana Reeves foundation.
- Jess Sandberg graciously volunteered her time to teach a tower mat class with all profits going to the hurricane relief fund.
- Tara Harrison donated all of her group class earnings for the month of November to the Tunnel to Towers Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund which benefits those affected in Staten Island.
A big thank you to all of the clients who donated by attending these classes or donated money. We couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and generosity.
Blog/Social Media:
We’ve had great feedback with our CFM blog and Facebook page. We’ve found that it’s a great way to connect with our clients, peers and people that are as passionate as we are about fitness and health. If you haven’t checked out our blog or “liked” our facebook page click on the links above. If you have anything you’d like to share with our community, please let us know!
Client Rewards Program:
We hope you’ve been watching your reward points accumulate. It is our way of thanking you for your loyalty and for the confidence you have shown through the referrals of family, friends, and colleagues to Center for Movement.
We are grateful to be part of such a wonderful community and for our many friends and supporters, some of whom we have known since we opened our first studio in 1998.
Have a very Happy Holiday!
Best in Health,
Center for Movement
