A MESSAGE FROM MERRITT

Today marks the end of routine school days for the Class of 2016, who will embark on Senior Projects from May 16 to June 1. Before leaving, however, seniors will participate in a campus-wide scavenger hunt created by Lee Shang's senior speleology (the study of caves) class and a picnic at the Adler's house. Thursday, May 12 is the annual Senior Transition Day, during which Class Dean Andy Hilgartner has organized a series of seminars on a variety of topics to ease the transition between high school and young adulthood. We hope the Class of 2016 will enjoy their time together, absorb the useful information, and have a successful and safe senior project experience.

This Friday, May 13 at Headmaster's Day, we will say farewell to our retiring faculty and staff and congratulate those who have worked at McDonogh for 25 years. Additionally, it is an opportunity to recognize Upper School students with year-end academic awards. If your schedule allows, please join us on Childs Memorial Terrace (R-L Center if raining) at 9:00 a.m.

Finally, I wish to thank Upper School MPA President Jill Bloom and her committee chairs for their hard work on behalf of students and faculty throughout the year. Today, we enjoyed the annual MPA Snowball Day thanks to their kindness and organization.

All the best,
Merritt
