It has been a very difficult week for our community. The one thing I can say about Burlington Township is that we are a resilient community. We are a community that supports one another. The outpouring from everyone has been amazing.
I would like to encourage our families to remain focused on the healing and the supporting of our students throughout the weekend and beyond. It is important to keep the support information that we have supplied to you handy. No one has to go through this alone. We are a community that cries together, stands together, and survives together. It takes a village to raise our children. The Burlington Township community is an amazing village.
Take some extra time with your families this week. Talk and play together. Wishing you all a restful, peaceful and healing weekend.
Liz

Resources
Helping Hands are Available
 Just a reminder of the resources that are available for you. It is very important that parents are equipped with as many resources to help them help their children and help themselves. As parents this is not easy, because we do not have all of the answers for our children. Please take advantage of the several resources to help you. Remember you are not alone in this. It takes a village!

Help for Shane
One of our Fountain Woods students, Shane McLaughlin, is in need of our support and help. A Give Forward account has been set up by the co-workers of Shane's mother, Kelly, to assist the family with Shane's medical bills. Shane was born with anorectal malformations (ARMs), which is a permanent condition. Shane is an incredible little boy with a smile that can light up a room. Shane is currently on homebound instruction, as he is medically unable to attend school. This fundraiser has been set up with hopes of raising money to help keep the medical supplies coming in. The family pays close to $900.00 out of pocket monthly for medical necessities. They continue to wait for his Social Security benefits to come through. Please consider helping Shane. If you would like to learn more about Shane and his Give Forward account, please click the link below.

Superintendent Chat and Chew
You are cordially invited to attend a Chat and Chew with the Superintendent. The Chat and Chew will give our community a chance to meet and interact with our new superintendent in a smaller setting. Each session will host only 15 community members at a time in order to keep the chats quaint. Once each session is filled, names will be placed on a waiting list and scheduled for a later date.
You will receive an email notifying you if your selected date is available or if you have been placed on a waiting list.
If you have any questions, please email Liz Scott at escott@burltwpsch.org. Dr. Kozak is looking forward to meeting you.

We Have Expanded Our Twitter
@BurlTwpSchools
Would you like to receive a text notification each time we tweet? Don't have Twitter? No worries. You can receive tweets without an account by using the Twitter 40404 feature.
40404 allows you to get tweeted messages directly through text without a Twitter account. Any tweets sent out by the district can easily be accessed through text. Simply text @BurlTwpSchools to 40404 and you will receive a message when we send out a tweet and be able to view the content in its entirety.
Please note that BTSD does not charge for this feature, but every mobile phone plan is different. Any text messaging fees that apply from your mobile carrier will be your responsibility and not the responsibility of the school district.
We are excited to announce the expansion of our sports and athletic department communications. We are adding sport tweets to our communication menu. Starting this week you will be able to follow our Winter sports. You will also be able to use the 40404 option to have text messages sent to your cell phone. You are now able to get tweets from the following for bowling, boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, and just general athletics. Use the Twitter information below to keep in touch with our sports:
