New Day Named a Best Place to Work in NJ
Ranked 10th out of 65

New Day is pleased to announce that for the second year in a row we have been named a top company to work for in New Jersey.  This year we ranked 10th out of 65, up from #17 last year in the small to medium size company category on the NJBiz 2015 list of Best Places to Work in New Jersey.  This award is a testament to New Day's commitment to
providing the insurance community with the finest risk management resources available but also ensuring that our employees  receive the support, guidance and attention needed to thrive in a nurturing, team-oriented environment.  We couldn't be more thrilled with this award and honor.

To qualify for this award, New Day's employees voluntarily responded to an anonymous survey regarding the company's benefits, culture, environment, etc.  A special thank you goes out to our team for allowing us to earn this great distinction.

Owner's Protective Professional Indemnity Insurance

Project professional liability insurance programs insuring the entire design team are still complex and costly with little protection afforded to the owner of a construction project.  As a result, many owners of all sized projects are looking more towards Owner's Protective Professional Indemnity Insurance (OPPI) and Owner's Protective Professional and Excess Contractor's Pollution Liability Insurance (OP3) to insure their exposure associated with design liability and other professional risk when hiring design professionals or design builders.  New Day Underwriting Managers can enhance the education of our broker partners with regards to these products and assist them in obtaining the optimal risk management solutions for their insureds.  Read more.

Two Major Carriers Merge Operations
Update on the XL/Catlin Merger

In January of 2015, XL Group plc and Catlin Group Limited agreed to merge. The transaction was finalized on May 1, 2015 with the new company being marketed as XL Catlin. This merger creates a new $10 billion insurance company making it the world's third-largest broker-market catastrophe reinsurer. The merger has created a world class participant in the insurance marketplace.

New Day has developed a strong relationship with both organizations and is excited about the possibilities of the merger between two very competent, skilled and talented underwriting teams. We have the good fortune of working with the Construction Professional and Environmental Units of each entity. Read more.

Risk Tip
Who is Your Environmental and/or Construction Professional Insurance Advisor?

null
The insurance world has become increasingly complex and specialized; this is especially true when it comes to environmental and construction related professional liability insurance.  Having an experienced advisor or advocate assisting in this process is imperative to ensure proper coverage is placed for your client/insured.  In the construction industry, some contractors still fail to properly identify environmental and professional risks and forgo the purchase of proper environmental or professional liability insurance, or look to their general liability policies to address these risks.  In both instances, the insured may be left uninsured for a significant loss.  To make things even worse for retail brokers, there has been an increase in the number of broker malpractice claims in the past few years brought because the insured did not have proper or sufficient coverage.  This is always a messy situation and in some cases could be avoided with the use of a proper intermediary specializing in certain coverages. To ensure you provide your client with the optimal insurance solution, take the time to partner with a broker or intermediary that has the knowledge and resources to place the best coverage possible to meet your client's needs and interests.
