New Day Named Top Company to Work For

New Day is pleased to announce our debut at #17 out of 62 in the small to medium size company category on the NJBiz list of Best Places to Work in New Jersey for 2014.   This award is a testament to New Day's commitment to providing the insurance community with the finest risk management resources available but also ensuring that our employees receive the support, guidance and attention needed to thrive in a nurturing, team-oriented environment.  We couldn't be more thrilled with this award and honor.

New Day's Mae Torres Gives Back in Africa

Who doesn't love being part of a dynamic and enterprising team?  New Day's Maydelis (Mae) sure does and like everyone else, she gets caught up in the day to day, expiration dates, the next account, the next project.  However, it is so important to stop from time to time and step away from the next policy and realize there are amazing teams of people doing extraordinary acts of kindness in the world every day.  This past May, Mae was fortunate to join a team for Habitat for Humanity International in Malawi, Africa to work with people who have a simple goal of building a home to ensure everyone has a decent place to live.  Read more about Mae's trip here.

New Day Families Head to the Ballpark

On June 22nd, the New Day team and their families spent the day at the ballpark for some fun, food and baseball as we watched the Trenton Thunder battle the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. A great time was had by all.  Please view our slide show of the eve

Risk Tip

When reviewing insurance requirements for your contractors' projects, pay attention to wording concerning the limits - especially concerning Pollution and/or Professional coverage.  Look out for wording for "dedicated" limits - meaning that all of the required limit needs to be available just for that project.  If dedicated limits are required, then the likely solution is a separate project-specific policy.

However, if the contract just requires evidence that the required limits are (generally) available, there may be another option.  If your client has existing blanket/practice coverage, a "project excess endorsement" option is probably available that provides the additional limits from the underlying primary limit up to the required limit for the project.  This method is potentially less expensive than a separate project-specific policy.

If your contractor DOES NOT have blanket (or practice) coverage, the only option is the project-specific policy approach.
