The Mission Road water main replacement/relocation project on Mission Road is moving along with no unexpected delays. The work is currently focusing in the 60th & Mission Road area and involves the pipe crossing the roadway resulting in a few critical steps that must be undertaken to keep the project moving along without interruption. WaterOne has notified the City of Fairway that on Sunday morning April 17, 2016 water service to a very limited number of residences and businesses near 60th and Mission Road will have to be shut off from approximately 7:00 a.m. to about 10:00 a.m. If WaterOne believes your home or business will be impacted by the shutoff you will receive direct notification from them.
Normally any work on a Sunday cannot begin before 9:00 a.m. by Fairway City Ordinance; the impact on public health and safety requires and allows the exemption in this case. To minimize excess noise on Sunday morning WaterOne has assured the City that any work involving heavy machinery that can be completed ahead of time will be taken care of during normal hours by Friday April 15th.
