Water One of Johnson County is planning to begin replacement of the water main on Mission Road from approximately Reinhardt Drive south to 63rd Street beginning Monday February 29, 2016. During this time the road will be completely impassable in work zones and detour routes to Roe Blvd. will be marked to assist motorists in the area. In addition, sign boards will be in place starting Monday February 22, 2016 to warn motorist of the impending closure and to plan alternate routes. The Fire Department and Johnson County Med-Act have been advised and have worked out alternate routes for emergency vehicles while the road is closed and impassable. Upon completion of the Water One Project, the City of Fairway will begin a mill and overlay project to complete the street repairs on Mission Road. The target completion date for the mill and overlay work will be in the summer, with a more precise date determined as the project progresses. In the following days Water One will be sending out an informational mailer to residences, businesses, and schools in the area that will contain contact information for the project.
For residents familiar with the area please try to avoid the construction and use alternate routes during this time as it will help in easing the flow of traffic. The Police Department will be monitoring traffic in the Highlands and Reinhardt Estates to address concerns as soon as possible. Thank you ahead of time for your cooperation and understanding during the shutdown. |
