Monday, December 28th trash collection is one of the designated dates per the City's contract with Town and Country Disposal were households will be allowed to set out more than 96 gallons of trash at no additional cost. Additional bags of trash set out for collection on December 28th will not require the $1.25 bag tags. Note: this designated date is for unlimited trash only to allow for the additional trash from the holiday. This does not include bulk items. See the trash collection guidelines for information on collection of bulk items.
Reminders for collection day:
- Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste must be set out at the curb by 6:30 a.m. DO NOT set carts/items in the street or gutter.
- Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste should be placed separately at the curb. The visual spacing allows the three separate collection trucks to identify what is trash, recycling and yard waste.
- Trash carts are to be placed within a foot of the curb with the arrow facing the street.
DO NOT set items on or against the cart. - Yard Waste must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or in designated yard waste cans. DO NOT place yard waste in the trash cart provided by Town & Country Disposal. Stickers to designate a yard waste can are available at Fairway City Hall.
- Branches are to be bundled (bundle not to exceed 4 feet in length, 2 feet in diameter, and not exceed 60 lbs in weight).
- Recycling is to be placed in the provided blue recycling bin or recycling cart (has a blue top).
- CHRISTMAS TREES are collected with the regular yard waste collection. All decorations and tinsel must be removed.
