In the last month the Fairway Police Department has taken several reports from residents about their cars being entered during the overnight hours while parked in their driveway. In addition to items taken such as change, cell phones, CD's, and laptop computers a few of the cars were stolen as well. The one common denominator in each of cases is the cars were left unlocked.
Please remember to lock your cars and keep garage doors closed. Valuables and garage door openers should be kept out of plain sight if they must be left in the vehicle. Never leave the keys in your car even if it is parked in the garage. A few simple preventative measures can save you a tremendous amount of grief. Thank you and remember to call 911 anytime you see a person unfamiliar to you enter a neighbors car or garage.
