HRC West: Western Canada's Premier HR Case Competition

This year marks the third annual case competition! It will be hosted at NAIT in Edmonton, Alberta on March 4 & 5, 2016. HRC West is the first business case competition in Western Canada dedicated entirely to HR. It was launched in response to a gap in practical learning opportunities for post-secondary students specializing in HR.

This competition is a great opportunity to connect post-secondary students with industry professionals, meet future business leaders and gain real-world HR knowledge by completing the case study. The case competition is one of HRIA's efforts to engage with post-secondary students and institutions, build awareness of HR and invest in Canada's future HR professionals.  Learn more

Payment can be made today online through your member profile.

Post-Secondary Accreditation Program Launch

HRIA, along with the other provincial members of CCHRA recently introduced an accreditation program for identifying post-secondary credit-level degree, diploma and certificate programs in their respective provinces for accreditation.

To be accredited by HRIA means that the post-secondary program has been assessed and shown to cover at least 80% of the content of the CHRP Competency Framework. Students who graduate from an accredited program with an overall average grade of 70% will be eligible to waive the National Knowledge Exam (NKE) and move straight to the Experience Validation Assessment portion of the CHRP path.

The accreditation program is a significant step forward for the Human Resources profession. It will provide accredited post-secondary institutions with a strong competitive advantage for students who want to pursue an HR career. This program gives HRIA the opportunity to officially recognize the knowledge that students gain from participating in post-secondary programs focused directly on the HR field. Learn more
