Recertification Tip
Labour shortages are a common discussion at this time. Learning and applying new strategies on how to recruit would be eligible for recertification points.  Implementing new recruiting strategies to meet your organization's needs would be considered a significant first-time initiative.  Training and information sessions that would help you identify strategies to effectively recruit internationally could also be counted as part of your professional development.

If you have questions about recertification, contact Pat Hanlon

Survey Participants Needed
Are you an employer, manager or HR professional who provides information about benefit programs to your employees?
Participants needed for this short survey
being conducted to inform the creation of a knowledge translation (KT) strategy for Canada's Compassionate Care Benefit (CCB), which offers workers a temporary, paid leave from employment to support a family member or a friend at the end of life.

The need to recruit new and effective talent continues to grow in Alberta.  More Baby Boomers are reaching the age of retirement and many roles, which are vital to the organization, have no planned successor.  As a result, recruitment techniques and tools are growing in importance, especially in Alberta.  HR professionals and recruitment specialists need to think outside the box when it comes to finding that perfect hire to fill key roles.

As always, your feedback is appreciated - let us know your thoughts or any new ideas you may have to enhance our communications.  Send us a note at articles@hria.ca .
