I have some traditions I love, especially with my family. And, if you can call regular coffee and chocolate as a tradition, it has to be high on my list! At the same time, I like to try some new things. After all, the traditions I love were, at one time, new to me. If we're not willing to change, we won't ever have those well-loved, never-let-go traditions.
Sometimes, we need to let go of those traditions in order to try something new. It's easier said than done in ministry. There's tension between the people who want to change and the ones who want to cling to tradition. How can you balance the two with respect?
This week, I'm sharing tips I think will help you. I'm sharing a powerful story of a young woman excited to step into leadership but immediately faced with the frustrating opposition of women who had been serving for years. I'll also share tips on preparing for and paddling through change, which is inevitable.
