Look around. It will not take long for you to find someone who is hurting. You might be that person. It's not an easy place to be, whether you're the one hurting or trying to help someone else who is hurting. Yet it's important for us to know how to reach out, what to say, what not to say, and how to cling to God's truth.

We often want to avoid pain, but it's part of life. I dug into this very topic in God Is Just Not Fair: Finding Hope When Life Doesn't Make Sense. God has purpose in all things, and much of that purpose involves how we rely on and reflect Him, as well as how we grow closer to others, through the trials. We were never intended to do life-whether it's the stuff we'd call "good" or "bad", on our own. We can't do it without Him, and we can't do it without others.

Today, I'm sharing help to encourage you, whether you are dealing with your own trials or someone else's. Connie Carey has personal experience with falling through life, and she's sharing what she has learned, as well as tips for reaching out to others. She's also giving away three copies of her new book, Falling Up: Lessons Learned on the Way Down. As an added bonus for members, I'm sharing Staci Eldredge's story and encouragement about personal change and tips for learning and clinging to God's Word.
