I travel often enough to have plenty of adventures. And it's so much fun when I get to share those adventures with other people (even when a traveling companion witnesses something embarrassing I'd rather keep to myself!).
There's something about traveling with others that pulls us together in relationship. It reminds me of the difference between trying to recount something hysterically funny to someone who has no idea why I'd even chuckle at what happened versus someone who experienced it along with me and can't catch her breath through her laughter as we share the memory.
Getaways seem to build special memories. When we get caught up in our routines, we look for the expected. We lose some sensitivity to the special moments going on around us. Getting outside our comfort zones changes that. It doesn't have to be a trip-of-a-lifetime. Piling a bunch of women in the van for a frozen yogurt or coffee shop run to a nearby city can be great getaways.
This week, I'm sharing some ideas to help you plan and enjoy a road trip with women in your ministry. (You'll even find a fun purse scavenger hunt printable game.) Also, check out the fun ideas for celebrating memories with these women. After all, part of having fun is sharing the memories!
