Olfa Hamdi is this year's AboulKacem Chebbi Student of the Year. The A.K. Chebbi program recognizes tomorrow's leaders who made their mark thru academic achievement and a commitment to excellence.
As a student at the University of Texas at Austin, and as a Tunisian Community Center intern, Ms Hamdi had demonstrated a high level of effort to promote the organization's mission.
During her intership, Olfa boosted the organization's social media visibility and was able to recruite a great number of members for the Tunisian Student Federation. some of whom helped her create the first Tunisian American blog.
She also played a major role in the production of the upcoming Tunisian-American Day event in Las Vegas.
Olfa, also, finds time to serve on the Tunisia Committee of TechWomen, a professional mentorship at leading technology and innovation companies in Silicon Valley.

It is The Ibn Khaldun Award Program Steering Committee's pleasure to announce that Mr Ferid Abbas has been selected as the recipient of the 8th annual Ibn Khaldun Award.
Mr Abbas is as versatile as his company is diversified: in addition to being the former president of the perstigious Club Africain soccer club , he is the Honorary Consul General of Iceland, and serves on the board of directors of The Arab Tunisian Bank.
His personal qualities as well as his professional career made him an excellent civilian ambassador to the World for Tunisia.
The recognition will take place during a ceremony that will be held at the Tunisian-American Day celebration on May 26, 2012 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
