I have been asked to convey an upcoming change to our policy on court bookings.

Our policies are a reflection of what we see on a day to day basis and the conversations that we have with you, the members.  We are implementing some policies that have been in place for some time but have not been enforced at the financial level.

We are starting the process now so that you have time during a less pressured period between now and the next cold snap to get accustomed to the changes.

To be clear on the type of changes we are referring, please read below.

Member Alert:

Court time is at a premium when the temperature is In the teens outside.   So many of our members are attempting to play indoors that the competition for courts brings about a few changes:

1)     More people are booking in advance to insure that they have court time.

2)     More people are logging on at 5am to book a "walk-on" (day-of) reservation

3)     More people are having their court time split between courts in an attempt to maximize their day-of reservations (with no charge). This is a one hour reservation for singles and a 1.5 hr reservation for doubles.

When there is pressure on the system for courts, some members will attempt to maximize their free court time by breaking the rules and disaffecting the rest of the membership. This means that we are not able to place as many members on the court each day.

If a member wishes to play more than the amount allocated per day at no charge, they are welcome to add additional time that they pay for (even if it is a day-of reservation). For example, if a member wishes to play 1.5 hrs or 2 hrs of singles, he/she may do so by booking their one hr of day-of court time at no charge and then add the additional court time at the charge for the additional time only. This means that if 2 players play for 2 hours using this method, they would each owe only $12 each.

Unfortunately, some members have been using other members names to book additional court time.

Even one's family member name may not be used if they are not the player on the court. Due to the effect of these abuses, the club will now be enforcing the court booking rules by charging members that have booked incorrectly/abusively.

This means that if you have any questions about whether you are booking correctly, you should logon to the booking portal and read the rules. If you still have questions, please call the club. Since our front desk is not responsible for keeping track of each substitution that a member makes on his/her court, members will be responsible for checking and correcting their bookings.

Charges for offenses will be made directly to members accounts.

Thank your for taking the time to read this and for being an important and valued part of our tennis community.

Sincerely,

Kevin McClure
